The amount of homes you visit every year to bring joy to children is nothing short of amazing! With that being said, I just want to lay out a few ground rules for your visit this year, so that we are all still merry when Christmas is over.

Tis the season…for home maintenance?! Okay, okay…that’s definitely not the highlight of the season. However, Texas winters are definitely hard on your home and a bit of prevention goes a long way this time of year. Cold weather is here and you’ll probably be at home more often to avoid Mr. Winter, so it’s a great chance to get a leg up (err…catch up) on some home maintenance before temperatures drop to downright unfriendly levels.

Making Up a Mud Room: if you’ve got it, flaunt it; if you don’t, fake it!

There's a hot new room that is high on buyer's want lists--the mud room! A mud room is a "catch-all" entry room that is very functional and can be decorated to the nines, too! Sometimes mud rooms are closed off and are separate rooms and sometimes they make a "room" out of previously dead space (like a hallway, walkway or entryway). Many houses have an existing space that could be converted to the "mud room" aesthetic. In an existing house, finding an unused space to transform into a mudroom is the most cost-effective way to get this look (and not have to remodel!). If you don't have one (and unless you've got a fairly new home or are really lucky), Make One Up!
