Reflecting on 9/11 on 9/12

Yesterday, the internet and conversations all over the United States focused on the aftermath of the day our country was changed forever.  9/11/01. It is now a sentence in itself.  So much changed for so many people, lives were lost, […]

Texas REALTORS® Conference 2014: Weekend Recap

We had a great time and learned SO MUCH! My favorite classes were on going paperless in real estate, surface and mineral rights and the graceful negotiation forum. It was great information that will come into use beginning today! Of course, while on the river walk, we had to sample the mojitos and Mexican food and shop a bit while we were there.

How to sell my house palestine texas with pets!

Sell Your House With Pets: 3 Steps to Selling Your Pet-Friendly Abode

Let me preface this by saying, I am a pet lover. I have a dog and a cat. However, my dog likes to stick his nose up people’s behinds and my cat is prone to biting men unprovoked and running out any open exterior door like a psycho flash of lightning. My pets are great, but they have some eccentricities and not everyone loves them like I do, so I am sure to put them up when I have visitors. I always stress to my sellers the importance of “pet maintenance” during the time their home is offered for sale. Pets are not everyone’s cup of tea, some folks have pet hair allergies or are just not into them at all. That is their prerogative. However, what you do want them to be into is your home becoming theirs! So, make it easier for yourself (long-term, anyway) and do some preventative “pet maintenance” before each showing so you can sell your home quickly and for top dollar!

Whose Water Is It Anyway? (Texas Real Estate & The “Water Crisis”)

Water is an increasingly valuable commodity in Texas and is gaining prominence in real estate transactions. The ownership and use of water depends on location. Most surface water is owned by the state, while most underground water is privately owned and can be conveyed or reserved.

Historic Districts in Palestine, Texas: A Quick Guide (with MAPS!)

Palestine, Texas was established in 1846 and features over 1800 historic sites, including homes, businesses, churches, monuments, cemeteries and museums. We are very lucky to be surrounded by a rich historical heritage in Palestine! I get asked often by folks about historic districts and whether or not their home is in a historic district. However, even if your home is not within one of the registered districts, you can still apply your property to be a Palestine Designated Historic Landmark. (To qualify, property must be 50+ years old and "have a historical value due to association with important events, people, trends, or are representative of historic architectural style and/or building methods."
