It's a new year and that means new trends! Styles always shift and it's hard to stay on top of what is "hot" and what is "not," but have no fear, I'm here to help! I love watching how the home design trends are going, especially seeing what is going on in pinterest/internet land vs. what people are REALLY doing in their homes. It's an interesting mix, for sure.

I’m continually amazed at what a fresh coat of paint can do. It can breathe new life into almost anything. Paint has remodeling power when you use it to emphasize a room’s best features or play down the flaws. It is one of the most economical upgrades for your home and can give it a whole new appeal. Tis the season…for home maintenance?! Okay, okay…that’s definitely not the highlight of the season. However, Texas winters are definitely hard on your home and a bit of prevention goes a long way this time of year. Cold weather is here and you’ll probably be at home more often to avoid Mr. Winter, so it’s a great chance to get a leg up (err…catch up) on some home maintenance before temperatures drop to downright unfriendly levels.

We all know about Spring Cleaning, but there are several things that need to be done in the fall months to prepare your Palestine, Texas home for the winter months! Luckily in Texas, we do not have to deal with basements and some other cold weather home issues that our Yankee neighbors have to face. However, there are some things that need to be addressed to prevent more expensive issues later on. Preventative maintenance=Cheaper Maintenance! (and who doesn't love cheaper!?)
