LET’S GO PUNKIN’ HUNTIN’ (but not have to drive too far!) 😉

I don’t know about you, but I am feeling “fallish!” I am normally a summer lover and start getting sad that the dog days of summer are behind us and the cold weather is coming. However, this year, I am looking forward to fall. There are several cool events coming up in October that will definitely get you in the fall spirit! – Note: always call/check websites before driving out to check hours/openings.

EDIT: THIS LIST WAS COMPILED SEVERAL YEARS AGO, SO DATES AND OPENINGS MAY CHANGE–ALWAYS CALL AHEAD/CHECK THEIR WEBSITES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE OPEN THIS YEAR and FOR SPECIFIC DATES/TIMES!

Great Harvest Farm in Montalba – Check their facebook page here. Open for 2024 season, check their fb page for updates/dates/times. Enjoy pumpkin painting, corn pit, hay rides, a hay maze and picking your own pumpkins. They are located at 20071 N. State Hwy 10 in Montalba, 10 miles south of Athens.

Rock Bottom Ranch Pumpkin Patch – open for 2024- 3099 N. US Hwy 28, Palestine, TX. -Rock Bottom Ranch is bringing pumpkin patch fun back to Palestine. With more than 500 pumpkins and gourds in a variety of shapes and sizes to sell, the fundraiser is drawing hundreds of visitors a week to the open air sale.The pumpkin patch is open 9 a.m to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and lasts until all the items are sold out. The patch is family-friendly and includes no scary Halloween decorations. It also features three eye-appealing photo backdrops on Fridays.

Yesterland Farms in Canton, Texas – A truly dazzling and magical place for children and adults alike! A huge and amazing corn maze,large pumpkin patch, amazement park, dixie mercantile, wagon train rides, fort yesterLand, pony rides, pig races, gem mining, and my husbands personal favorite–the Pumpkin Launcher!!! About an hour drive from Palestine and well worth the trip! We have been many times and had a great time. Great for kids and adults. They also have the spooktacular nights events as well. Grace Pumpkin Patch – (note: does not appear to be open in 2024…check with them to be sure) Located in Palestine -Check out their calendar for movies/other special events on certain days-including a Masquerade Ball, Movie Night, Fall Fest and more! Located at Grace Church. 9am-8pm. Check their website for prices and special events on weekends.

Pumpkin Patch Express – Texas State Railroad – *2024 update: looks like they have a Fall Harvest lunch train this year and not the pumpkin patch express. Check their site for dates/times. When: Saturdays & Sundays in October, Departing the Rusk Depot-Pick your own pumpkin, visit Trick or Treat Street, and enjoy a hayride, games, live entertainment and more! Kids don’t forget to wear your costumes! Lunches are not included for this event; food for purchase will be available at the pumpkin patch. See Texas State Railroad for times/tickets. (UPDATE: this does not appear to run every year. Check with the Railroad to see if/what events they have for fall)

Callie’s Acre – *open for 2024 season* pumpkin patch, sunflowers & events. See website for dates/pricing. Longview, TX
