Everyone has features that they love in a home, and mothers are no different. Moms tend to think about the needs of the family and the practicality of the space. There are several house features that will make just about any Mom go gaga.
PRACTICAL MOM MUST-HAVES
Moms are often a driving force in home selection, so you can imagine that a Mom’s wish list will fall fairly close in line with trending home features at any given time. Some popular things that top the list are features such as split floor plans, private bathrooms and an open concept—and all for good reason. However, some things that Moms want don’t always make the “must have” list, but they may just become the cherry on top. Mud rooms are great for organizing all the kid’s daily gear and a “drop zone” for all the daily clutter that never seems to have a home. Play rooms are another popular Mom wish list item so the kids have a space to play and the toys have a place to go without messing up the living room. Personally, I think playrooms should always have a solid door so you can shut if and *poof!* mess-be-gone!
LUXE MOM DREAMS
Some home features may not be the most practical, but Moms sure would love to have them in their dream house anyway! A central vacuum system, heated floors and a laundry shoot aimed straight for the laundry room would certainly put a smile on the face of most Moms I know. As long as we are talking dream houses…wouldn’t it be great if there was a self-cleaning kitchen and a laundry robot? (Hey, one can dream!)
Just like houses, Moms come in all styles and flavors and each one is the center of her family. No matter how many upgrades or how gorgeous those granite countertops are, there is really only one feature that every Mom insists is in her home. It’s something that can’t be bought and it is the most priceless part of any house—it’s that intangible little feeling called “home.”
